Anguie Munoz - Heavenly Knits

How Heavenly Knits began

Anguie was in her crochet era, exploring new patterns and watching yarn spinners online, some made of wood, some 3D‑printed. We already had a 3D printer from a different idea (planters) that didn’t work out the way we hoped, so we thought: why not try printing a spinner and see?

We started with a free model from Bambu Lab’s MakerWorld. It was simple, two printed parts with a point that fit into the base. But it had plastic‑on‑plastic friction, slipped on the table, had almost no weight, and it didn’t feel like “Anguie” as an artist. Then one day the tip on the base broke, and surprisingly, it spun better. That was our “wait… what if?” moment. We thought about every rotating system we’ve ever seen and landed on one answer: bearings. The challenge became: how do you seat a bearing inside a 3D‑printed PLA piece so it’s smooth, quiet, and durable?

In August, the first cow spinner took us almost a full month of testing. We experimented with the design and the production: should the spots be painted or printed in multi‑color, should the base match the face, how do we make the spindle safer, where should the bearing go, and which areas need reinforcement (especially the nose and the spindle itself). We knew it was ready when it turned smoothly with no noise, didn’t slip on any surface, and didn’t break even when we pushed it. And honestly, when we looked at it and felt: it’s cute, it’s useful, it’s ours.

That’s what Heavenly Knits is to us. A small piece of art that’s also a real tool. Designed by a crocheter for crocheters, made in the USA, and built to add a sweet, special touch to every project.

Meet the makers

Anguie Munoz is the heart of the designs. She’s a crocheter and artist who sketches the ideas, chooses the colors, and thinks about the small details that make a tool feel like a little piece of art. The yarn spinner existed before, but Anguie envisioned a version that feels more special, more expressive, and still genuinely useful for real crocheters.

Carlos is the product engineer behind the scenes. He turns the sketches into 3D models, chooses materials and print settings, and solves the little problems that show up during prototyping. With experience in software development and an industrial‑engineering mindset (systems, quality, continuous improvement), he focuses on fit, safety, durability, and the kind of smooth spin that simply feels good.

We’re a couple building this together. Every spinner is designed, tested, and packed by us, in our small studio in Atlanta, Georgia. Made in the USA, made with love, and made by crocheters for crocheters.
